Inside Tommy Hilfiger’s New York penthouse apartment

We know we say this about every celeb apartment, but you will seriously wish you lived in Tommy Hilfiger’s.

The designer behind the namesake fashion empire is putting his Plaza Hotel penthouse apartment on the market and has even cut the price by US$21 million; however it is still not exactly a steal and will set you back a cool US$58million (NZ$80 million).

Hilfiger and his wife bought two separate units across the two top floors of the Plaza back in 2008 and converted it into a luxe four-bedroom, 5,600 square-foot duplex.

The apartment is ideally located next to shopping heaven, otherwise known as Fifth Avenue, and has stunning views over Central Park. The opulent decor is perhaps not what you would expect from Hilfiger, who is known for his all-American style, but luxe accents and retro touches are seen throughout the property.

Other noteworthy features include a spiral staircase, wet bar, terrace, library and walk-in closets. The apartment owners will also benefit from The Plaza’s amenities, including maid service and room service.

This isn’t the first time Hilfiger has listed the apartment; he attempted to sell it for US$80 million in 2014 and US$75 million in 2015. While the market for a US$58 million must be smaller than most, we can’t for the life of us, think why this hasn’t been snapped up already!
