Gwyneth Paltorw.

Gwyneth Paltrow has been known to say some bizarre quips in her time, especially since the launch of her website Goop.

Her ideology on health can be described as somewhat pretentious – detox after detox, $200 smoothies, sex dust – you name it, she’s done it. While she definitely waxes lyrical about all sorts of gobbledy gook, we will always take it with a pinch of salt and can’t wait to hear what extreme topic she’s going to tackle next (her Christmas wishlist was a particular FQ favourite).

Here we round up seven of Gwyneth’s most hilarious and bizarre quotes of all time… just seven of the many reasons why we continue to love her:

On finding the right balance:
“You know, I use organic products, but I get [laser treatments]. It’s what makes life interesting, finding the balance between cigarettes and tofu.”

On vaginal steaming:
“The real golden ticket here is the Mugworth V-Steam: You sit on what is essentially a mini-throne, and a combination of infrared and mugwort steam cleanses your uterus, et al.” “It is an energetic release — not just a steam douche — that balances female hormone levels,” she adds. “If you’re in L.A., you have to do it.”

On first world problems in Paris:
“When you go to Paris and your concierge sends you to some restaurant because they get a kickback, it’s like, ‘No. Where should I really be? Where is the great bar with organic wine? Where do I get a bikini wax in Paris?”

On the importance of a foreign nanny:
“She’s French, so she’s teaching them French, and their previous nanny was Spanish, so they’re fluent in Spanish.”

On her deepest passions:
“When I pass a flowering zucchini plant in a garden, my heart skips a beat.”

On appropriate dinner conversations:
“We have great dinner parties at which everyone sits around talking about politics, history, art and literature—all this peppered with really funny jokes. But back in America, I was at a party and a girl looked at me and said, ‘Oh, my God! Are those Juicy jeans that you’re wearing?’ and I thought, I can’t stay here. I have to get back to Europe.”

On Googling yourself:
“You come across [online comments] about yourself and about your friends, and it’s a very dehumanizing thing,” Paltrow said. “It’s almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing … My hope is, as we get out of it, we’ll reach the next level of conscience.”
