Every key look from the Gucci Fall 2017 show

23 February 2017

Gucci kicked off Milan Fashion Week in style.

MFW was off to a great Gucci start with the label presenting looks from their Fall 2017 collection.

‘The Alchemist’s Garden: an anti-modern laboratory’ was held at Gucci’s new Milan headquarters, the Gucci Hub. In keeping with the retro-inspired futuristic theme, a traditional catwalk was dispensed with and instead models were sent down Plexiglass-covered runway that surrounded a giant pyramid.

The looks presented by creative director Alessando Michele continue to showcase the designer’s unpredictable aesthetic. And while the ‘geek chic’ theme endures, the label’s direction seems to be evolving well beyond this with diversity–both in gender and style–very much the order of the day.

Invitations came in the form of vinyl (as in an LP) with graffiti artist Coco Capitán scrawling on the cover: “What are we going to do with all this future?”. The record itself featured Florence Welch reading from Blake’s Innocence and A$AP Rocky reading from Jane Austen.

As expected, the front row was star-studded with Alexa Chung, Salma Hayek and Tom Hiddleston just a few of the famous faces in attendance.

From start to finish, this stellar event delivered Gucci in all its greatness and proved that Gucci mania is going nowhere fast. See all the looks in the gallery above.
