Your beauty go-to this season will be from Karen Walker – but not in the way you might think.
Karen Walker’s latest eyewear collection explores the idea of frames becoming an extension of your day-to-day makeup look; they are no longer just an accessory.
The Eyeshadow collection comprises of barely-there tints in sheer pink and marigold, and mirrored lenses in dark smoke, gold and silver.
Photographer Derek Henderson shot the campaign and collaborated alongside Karen herself and M.A.C senior artist Kiekie Stanners, who used M.A.C’s new super-adrenalised Colour Rocker matte lipsticks to create the bold lip looks seen in the campaign imagery.
The glasses themselves give a distinctive 70s vibe – “discotheque chic”, as the press release describes it – but paired with the tone-on-tone matte lip, brings the eyewear into a new beauty dimension.
“For our soft tints we wanted a look that was very pared back,” Karen says, “almost as if you’d just dusted your eyes with the lightest touch of powder.”
All tinted lens styles are $329, whilst mirrored lenses are $349.
The collection is available now in store and online from karenwalker.com and select online retailers.
