By Fashion Quarterly

Another summer, another number of genetically-blessed It-girls from across the globe walking in the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Though the concept of sending models down the runway clad in lingerie and varying majestical creature wings seems a little passe in 2018, the retail giant has made something of a pre-holiday tradition garnering the attention of more than 190 countries each year. Now in it’s 23rd year, the event has – more than we’d care to admit – the world waiting in bated breath to see which models will walk, which artists will perform and who will wear the coveted Fantasy Bra.

While we haven’t got all of the answers just yet, scroll to find out everything there is to know so far about the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show:

Where
Following memorable productions in London, Paris and Shanghai, the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will be returning to where it all began: New York City.

When
If the previous shows are anything to go by, you can expect 190 countries to tune in on December 2nd at 10pm EST. Which for us Kiwi folk works out to be around 3pm, the following day. Mark in down in your calendars, ladies.

Who will be walking in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for 2018?
Victoria’s Secret announced via press release that Angels Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo (who is back following a three-year hiatus), Candice Swanepoel, Kendall Jenner, Elsa Hosk, Jasmine Tookes, Josephine Skriver, Lais Ribeiro, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell, and Taylor Hill will walk this year’s stage, in addition to a fresh batch of up-and-comers including Kiwi Maia Cotton.

“Only one show brings together the biggest names in music and the top models around the globe for an exciting hour of entertainment and style,” says Rob Mills, ABC’s senior vice president of alternative series, late night, and specials.

“We couldn’t be happier to work with this iconic brand and bring The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to ABC.”

How are the models getting ready?
The models are taking prescribed measures to ensure they’re runway ready ahead of the 2018 show. Many have taken a varied approach applying techniques to suit their body types. Stella Maxwell has pursued a more mindful avenue looking to trainer Beth Cooke on refining her yoga; Sara Sampaio has been rocking a personalised strength-training regimen; Lameka Fox has been mixing it up with agility drills and boxing with trainer Omar Alexander; Martha Hunt has been lengthening and toning with Barre; and Lais Ribeiro has been living it up on the dancefloor with intense cardio sessions.

Who will wear the Fantasy Bra?
Once casting had officially closed, the looming question of which model would wear the bespoke Fantasy Bra—a lingerie set decorated with precious diamonds and stones; previous iterations have been valued at over $10 million—had us, and the entire world, in total suspense. That was until, just days out from the show, the lingerie giant revealed the 2018 Fantasy Bra would be worn by none other than Swedish sweetheart, Elsa Hosk.

Crafted by Atelier Swarovski, the ‘Dream Angels Fantasy Bra’ — yes, that’s its official name — using 100 percent Swarovski diamonds and responsibly sourced topaz. it also features a body chain using more than 2,000 diamonds and 930 arduous hours to construct.

…And the fashion?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is the retail giant’s latest fashions on display, elevated by couture-style pieces that cannot be purchased en masse. Behind these pieces for 2018 is designer Mary Katrantzou.  So expect an expansive use of colour and sexy florals.
