The latest buzz in the hair industry is Olaplex

There have been some murmurings in the hair industry lately about a new treatment which promises to colour your hair with no damage – sounds too good to be true? We decided to go straight to the best source – Jennifer Morgan of Morgan and Morgan Hair and Makeup Studio:Essential-Looks-Dark-Angels-03

What is Olaplex?
Olaplex is a treatment that links broken bonds in hair back together again. It can be added into any hair services and will prevent any breakage. It’s free of silicone, sulfates, phthalates, DEA, aldehydes, and is not tested on animals. Olaplex reconnects broken disulfide sulfur bonds in the hair which get broken during thermal, mechanical and chemical services.

What can customers expect from having this treatment?
We have experimented in adding it into the service menu with Keratin Complex, Blow Out, Permanent Wave, Permanent straightening, toning and regular colour services. Because it is a bond extender is builds the core strength of the hair and allows all other treatments to become more effective and longer lasting. Lighten without damage, colour with less fade, toners are more even, perms have more energy and smoothing services and straightening is more effective.

What benefits can a customer expect to see?
At Morgan & Morgan we have been using Olaplex for 5 months now with extraordinary results! The hair is strong, shiny and we can colour in situations we would have be nervous to try before. It increases the effectiveness of other salon services as it’s replacing the links that bind the hair. When we use it with our protein based treatments the difference is quite noticeable. The ‘Stand Alone Olaplex Bond Reparation Treatment’ can be done at any time and will leave the hair stronger and softer all at the same time. “Before I tried it on a client, I colored my own hair with Olaplex. I am pretty cautious with my colour and have not had any lightening services for years…but I needed to be sure it was everything it claimed. Lightening my hair over previously lightened hair and ABSOLUTELY no breakage. I am convinced!” says Jennifer.

What extra cost is involved?
The average cost ‘In-Color’ is $45
Stand Alone Treatment $70
