Everyday sunscreens

Having survived (with little sleep and lots of hot sunshine) a three-day school camp with my ten year old last week, Neutrogena Beach Defence kept me and 60 children sunburn free. Not one kid got pink and the tropical beachy scent made it the sunscreen of choice among the girls. Here are our top sunscreens for any outdoor fun-in-the-sun pursuit this holiday season.

1. YSL High Protection UV Shield SPF 50 BB Shade, $79. 2. Elizabeth Arden Prevage Triple Defense SPF 50, $155. 3. Estee Lauder DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant & UV Defense SPF 50, $98.

FOR DRIVING
Glass is no barrier to UV rays. Keep an antioxidant-rich SPF50 sunscreen in the glove box, which is less likely to degrade in a hot car.
