American actress Katie Holmes has a new focus (a much more fun one than her divorce from Tom); she has just been named the face of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. It’s a first for the brand, which has never used the power of celebrity to sell lipstick. According to makeup guru Bobbi Brown herself, who was instrumental in signing Holmes: “Katie Holmes epitomises the modern ‘Bobbi woman’… I think of her as the modern-day Ali MacGraw, who I have always admired,” says Brown.
While there is no doubt Holmes has a very ‘natural ‘ look – you will never see her in neon eye colour – it wasn’t just her face that got the brand excited. “Katie is a classic natural beauty, entrepreneur and mother. When I met her, I thought she was a natural fit for my brand, and felt an instant connection with her because we have so much in common,” says Brown.
