As features and beauty editor for Fashion Quarterly, no day for Lucy Slight is the same.
One minute she’ll be sitting at her desk writing about the latest lipstick or must-have foundation formula, the next she’ll be down in the photo studio shooting a beauty editorial or attending a launch for a new cosmetics line. Life as a beauty editor is never boring, and being on top of the game is essential. A no-fuss makeup routine, glowing skin and perfect brows is Lucy’s go-to look.
It’s no surprise then that Lucy found Estée Lauder’s new Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick to be the dream product – it’s about as fuss-free as you can get! See what Lucy gets up to in a typical day and then read her thoughts on the latest foundation to join the Double Wear family, below.
“First thing’s first, I’ve worn mineral powder makeup for years, and while I dabble in the occasional liquid or cream, I always go back to my trusty mineral. Pet hates with liquids and creams include: being able to feel them on my skin, resulting shiny afternoon T-zone, and too-heavy formulas that don’t let my skin shine through.
But as a beauty editor, it’s my job to try new things – plus, you never know when you’re going to find your next Holy Grail product, right? My first impression of Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick was “how freakin’ awesome – a cushion foundation, in stick form!” – the first of its kind to cross my desk.
Assuming it would be the same formula as Estée Lauder’s iconic Double Wear Foundation, I thought I’d find the coverage too heavy, but from the get-go it was obvious that not only was the packaging sheer genius, but the formula was too. Light as a feather, the foundation glided onto my skin, sheer and luminous and I was able to build up the coverage just where I needed it, without it going cakey.
It lasted the day, didn’t ever feel sticky or slip off and the ol’ T-zone stayed shine-free too, but the best part? I couldn’t even feel it on my skin – win! I’ll be keeping this in my handbag at Fashion Week, for pre-night time show touch-ups for sure.”
