Skin Q&A with Carolyn Taylor

TV personality and Fashionista Fail blogger Carolyn Taylor talks about her skin health and what led her to address her skin concerns in her mid-thirties.

What does great skin mean to you?
Great skin to me is so important and not only for vanity reasons, (yes we all want skin like JLo…We are only human after all!) If my skin is glowing it means that I’m healthy, I’m hydrated, I’m not too stressed or anxious, it means I’m taking care of myself and that I’m happy. Life win!

What were your main skin concerns?
I have hyper-pigmentation which is a real bug-bear for me. Along with all the make-up I wear, exercising outdoors, air conditioning and being out and about can be really harsh on my skin, I don’t know why I didn’t start to sort my skin out sooner!? Better late than never huh?

What made you decide to start on a skin correcting programme?
I have learnt that taking care of my skin from the outside in, as well as the inside out is 100% important. This year, as my ‘mid thirties’ come at me with the speed of a freight train on steroids I thought I’d best sort out my ‘skin care regime’ and invest and educate myself on how to have the best skin I can at any age. Prevention is better than cure after all, and if I can be as radiant as Helen Mirren at 69 I’ll be stoked. I mean I’ve invested in clothes, gym memberships, all the things that keep us healthy and feeling good so why not give my skin the same respect?

What results have you achieved while being on a skin correcting programme?
I’ve just completed my 12 month skin rejuvenation programme at Caci, and I can honestly say that I’ve never had better skin, to the point I’m actually getting compliments on it which has never happened before (and yes it makes me blush!) Over the last 12 months, my skin tone has evened out and I don’t even feel the need to wear foundation every day, which as any woman knows, take minutes off getting ready each day (hitting the snooze button win!)

If I can start the next phase of my life with healthier skin, then I think the ageing process and I will get on just fine! Before starting on my skin correcting programme at Caci; the ageing process was something that the vanity in me really hated the idea of. Now, because I’m doing what I can to help myself, it’s a little easier to accept that gravity can do its worst but I’ll be combating it every step of the way. Here’s to happy, healthy, radiant skin all seasons and all ages!
