Surf Life Saving NZ gets a new sunscreen

There is no way I would let my kids swim anywhere at the beach but between the flags, which is what prompted this post.

Surf safety aside, big ups to BDM Grange for creating a sunscreen to support Surf Life Saving NZ. At the launch recently (yes, there was some great eye candy present – but not in speedos, see below) the life savers themselves talked about the perils of their role on the beach. Aside from keeping us safe in the water, they face another threat: the sun. Some of them spend 10 hours a day under those damaging UV rays, hence their long-sleeved shirts and long boardies and hats. Back to the sun screen: it ticks all the boxes for us. It’s SPF 50 (this is now the national standard), there is no greasy residue or nasty fruity, tropical smell, and it gives four hours of water resistance. Oh and the clincher  – it’s paraben-free.

All that plus $1 from every tube sold goes to supporting this great organisation that literally runs on the smell of an oily rag!

Pictured above: Clip bottle starts at $10, and the 400ml, $25.

The boys at a beach near you this summer – show them you support.
