If you’re anything like us, you’re living week-to-week for your Game of Thrones fix.
Nowadays they’re considered Hollywood royalty and are tapped to star in blockbuster films as well as headlining our favourite TV series.
But before they were Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, Margaery Tyrell et al, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington and Natalie Dormer were just ordinary up-and-coming actors, looking for their big break.
It’s hard to believe some of these fresh faces were barely in their teens at the time they auditioned; now they’re in their twenties and their characters’ storylines have become increasingly complex. Special shout out to Jason Momoa (aka Khal Drogo) for his – ahem, not particularly accurate – rendition of our national rugby team’s haka.
Watch their audition tapes and you’ll see why the casting director decided they were so perfect for the roles they eventually claimed.
