FQ’s full fashion and beauty debrief for the week:
Equipment x Garance Doré
One is a connoisseur of Parisian chic. The other is a creator of the chicest Parisian shirts. It was always only a matter of time, then, before Garance Doré and Equipment would put their heads together to create the coolest little capsule collection we’ve seen in a long while.
Equipment x Garance Doré consists of four special pieces: three scarves (each with a different artwork by Doré), and then the hero piece—Equipment’s classic white ‘Daddy’ shirt emblazoned with bright red lips.
Well known for her fashion illustrations but having shied away from designer collabs for the most part, Doré reckons that seeing someone walking down the street wearing her illustrations will feel “like a little wink from life”. Says Doré: “It would make me very happy… I’ll probably end up going to say hello to a girl who’s wearing one of my shirts”.
Sure to be a fixture of fashion week front-rows and street style blogs this summer, these pieces are available exclusively at Equipment’s flagship stores and online at equipmentfr.com, so get in fast.
Karen Walker x Sephora
The second exciting collab that you need to know about this week is Karen Walker’s partnering up with beauty giant Sephora to produce a stunning set of tortoiseshell make-up brushes.
The Amber Craft Brush Set is the perfect six-brush set for covering all your make-up bases. We love that the ferrule of each brush (that’s the bit that connects the brush handle to the hair) is made out of Karen Walker’s signature filigree featuring everyone’s favourite peace signs, critters and skulls. We also love the compact mirror that the designer created to go with the set, which opens up into the shape of her best-selling Orbit shades.
Set to be stocked in Sephora stores from October, these pieces look perfect for treating oneself, and would make an equally great gift (we know it’s only July but dare we say, stocking-filler?). So if you or someone you know is heading stateside soon, do not leave them off the list. In fact, get two.
Karen Walker for Sephora Collection Amber Craft: Compact Mirror, $48 (USD).

KIM KARDASHIAN MAKE-UP FREE IN VOGUE ESPAÑA
The queen of clown-contouring surprised us all this week when she took to Instagram to post some of the images from her recent Vogue Spain spread, and there was not a hint of bronzer or concealer to be seen. Ok, maybe a touch of tinted moisturiser. Probably a lick of mascara.
But for the woman who no doubt has more make-up artists than family members on speed-dial, this fresh-faced look was a marked—and can we just say, magnificent—change. Seriously, Kim looks sensational in these shots. Captured by Theo Wenner, the editorial features Kim schlepping around the Beverly Hills Hotel in pyjamas, sneans, and a Mickey Mouse t-shirt, and the internet agrees she has never looked more natural, approachable and, well, beautiful.
A little less Kim crawling around in a dirt pit and a little more #KimNoFilter please!
CLUELESS TURNS 20
As if we would neglect to mention this very important milestone! It was July 19th, 1995, when teenage girls the world over first fell in love with Cher and, let’s be honest, her high-tech outfit selecting software. Since then, it’s fair to say that Clueless has become a cult classic film, still beloved by its original audience while forever winning over new fans with its timeless appeal. And we mean timeless—let’s not forget Clueless is a modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma, written in 1815 (er, happy 200th birthday Emma!).
But that’s just the thing—whether it’s 20 or 200 years down the track, there’s something about a slightly misguided heroine, sussing out her place in the world and stumbling into a couple of love triangles along the way that we just can’t get enough of, which perhaps explains Clueless’s enduring popularity and cultural relevance. We’d be lying though if we said it isn’t the 90s fashions—many of which have come full circle at least once since the film’s release—that keep us coming back for more.
