High-profile fashion designer Kate Sylvester has confirmed she will be returning to New Zealand Fashion Week after a four-year hiatus from the event.
The designer said the label’s show this year was in celebration of its 21st birthday.
“We have such fantastic retail accounts throughout New Zealand and NZFW is our only national event that brings the industry together as a whole.
“We really want to celebrate, not just ourselves, but the industry that has nurtured and supported us,” Sylvester said.
Kate Sylvester will present her AW15 collection to delegates and buyers on Wednesday 27, as well as her in-season collection during the public Resene Designer Selection Shows and at a new VIP fashion event presented by Fashion Quarterly.
NZFW managing director Dame Pieter Stewart said the return was indicative of a renewed sense of confidence in the event.
“Kate Sylvester is one of New Zealand fashion’s heavy hitters showing during the week, alongside a really strong lineup of designers from around the country and we’re delighted to have her confirmed to show in 2014.
“Her distinctive signature style of modern femininity attracts a very loyal customer and her show is sure to be one of the highlights of this year’s event.”
NZFW runs from August 25-31.
