Owner of Dfusion Clothing, Sarah Dampier talks to Simply You about running her own clothing boutique, her go-to fashion essentials and style icons.

What does your job entail?
I own fashion boutique Dfusion Clothing in Christchurch, so I view the ranges for the new season and order stock. Customer service is a big part of my job — I’m always on the floor and it’s part of the job I love. I’ve had Dfusion for three-and-a-half years and previously I managed Cue. As a little girl I always dreamed of having my own store.

What do you love most about your job?
Absolutely the people, I love outfitting and knowing every person walking out of my store looks incredible, that makes me happy.

Describe a typical day for you.
I’m up at 6am getting the kids ready for their day. I am a morning person, so I do my emails first thing. I always set myself a list of goals each day and then it’s off to open the store.

How would you describe your personal style?
I love timeless, classic pieces. My wardrobe reflects that I am a mum and love fashion; it’s fun but always elegant.

Who are your style icons?
They are very eclectic! I admire Madonna for her ever-changing style but my favourite classic icon has to be Audrey Hepburn.

Do you have a work ‘uniform’?
Absolutely not, fashion is always fun and changing.
