Introducing Simply You for EziBuy, a debut capsule collection designed to effortlessly complement your wardrobe.

Behind the scenes at Simply You has been busier than ever as our editors have worked to bring their dream fashion collection to life. Having celebrated Simply You’s 20th anniversary and with it two decades of curating the best of new-season fashion, the time felt right for the team to not only help readers style their wardrobes, but to create something special just for them.

“It was a natural progression to do Simply You clothing,” says the magazine’s creative director Marcel Gull, who has worked in collaboration with EziBuy to design a 30-piece capsule collection, choosing fabric swatches, checking samples and creating campaign shoots. It’s available to shop now at

“When we were thinking about who we could collaborate with, EziBuy was a natural fit,” says Marcel.

Established as a mail-order business by the Gillespie brothers in Palmerston North in 1978, the company has grown into the largest multi-channel retailer in Australasia, processing more than 1.75 million customer orders a year. The much-loved brand champions convenience and quality, and is backed by 40 years’ experience in developing new collections, manufacturing and fashion insights.

Working closely with EziBuy’s former managing director Edwina Neilson and buyer Katy Kelly, Simply You for EziBuy’s aim from the outset was to arm shoppers with elevated essentials. Meticulously designed to be styled together in single outstanding outfits, the garments in the debut capsule collection form the building blocks of a well-considered wardrobe.

“[It’s] a collection that’s beautiful to wear, polished and well finished, and represents great value,” says Edwina. “A collection where the pieces complement each other.”

Available in sizes 8 to 18, this is a timeless summer offering that will help the wearer develop her sense of style.

“I thought about the woman who reads Simply You,” says Katy. “She loves clothing and appreciates quality. She’s a woman who has her own unique sense of style, effortlessly claiming an outfit as her own by adding her personal flair.”

Strongly believing beautiful fabric is the essence of a garment’s integrity, Katy sourced materials with natural fibres, using them to create items including lightweight 100 percent silk shirts and camisoles, and 100 percent linen culottes. Combining material of this calibre with classic colours and shapes, the garments are sure to impress time and again.

The range is expressed in a tonal, cohesive colour palette of black, ivory, navy, dove grey and beige, with the striking addition of a standout coral. The hero prints are a whimsical yet modern floral motif and a fashion-forward giraffe pattern that plays on the trend of zebra and cheetah prints.

“This is a collection to mix and match, moving you from desk to dinner to summertime weddings with effortless style in pieces that embrace your lifestyle,” adds Katy. “Clothing should be worn and loved, and I personally love how this collection is designed to be dressed up or down, according to your mood.”

“It’s very sophisticated and clean – that’s my favourite thing about it,” says Marcel. “I haven’t seen one combination out of the capsule wardrobe that doesn’t work.”

Extending their longevity, several styles are designed to be worn multiple ways. The sleeveless shift dress, for example, can be flipped back to front for a low or high neckline, making it feel like a whole new dress when you start to develop favourite-outfit fatigue. In a blended silk viscose, it’s durable and highly wearable for any number of outings.

Personal touches from the design team encourage experimentation with such signature styles, something Simply You and EziBuy will continue to explore as they work together on an autumn/winter 2020 offering.

“Marcel and the Simply You team bring such a great energy,” says Katy of the experience so far. “It’s wonderful to collaborate with creative people who love fashion and clothing!”

The feeling is mutual, with the Simply You team looking forward to developing future fashion line-ups. Says Marcel: “Working with EziBuy is an amazing opportunity to create something special
for our readers, combining the power of EziBuy’s wide-reaching appeal with our magazine’s eye for style and quality design.”
