Paris Couture Week 2017: FQ’s most adored looks

6 July 2017

Arguably one of the most glamorous events on the fashion calendar, Haute Couture Fashion Week held in Paris has just come to a close.

But what really is Haute Couture? The literal definition is “high or elegant sewing” but essentially it is the most elaborate, lavish and expensive type of clothing you can buy. Restrictions around being called a ‘Haute Couture Haus’ include having 15 or more staff members creating two collections a year for both evening and daywear. Everything needs to be crafted by hand and Couture fashion houses will belong to the Syndical Chamber of Haute Couture in Paris, which if course, you must be invited to.

Roughly only 2,000 ladies worldwide buy Couture, 60% of which are American. Each piece can start from between $16,000 to $60,000.

We have been keeping a close eye on Couture over the last week and have selected what we consider the top three looks from our favourite shows for you to delight in.
