The best street style of AW20 Copenhagen Fashion Week

4 February 2020

Those effortlessly stylish Danes deliver the best street style

No one does fashion week quite like the Danish and, while we soak up the New Zealand sunshine and enjoy the long, balmy February evenings, in the Northern Hemisphere it’s fashion month – so with our own autumn fast approaching, naturally we’re looking north for style inspiration.

The trendsetting Copenhagen Fashion Week boasts stylish runways, thanks to a roster of ultra-hip, highly coveted brands like Ganni, Cecilie Bahnsen, Rotate Birger Christensen and more. Off the catwalk, there’s just as much to see, with fashion industry insiders showcasing artful combinations of cutting edge design and practical wearability.

Attendees’ wardrobes tend to explore a collective mood, with tasteful cohesion that avoids sameness. This season’s street style offered a plethora of browns, two-tone garments and zesty colour. And hats! So many hats. Just like last time.

In recent years the Danish capital has gone from being a second-tier fashion week to one of the leaders in both style and sustainability – the organisers have just announced a swathe of initiatives, requirements, and goals to make both the event and the collections it presents more environmentally friendly.
