How team FQ keeps active over the holidays

Adidas I Got This clothing

Let’s face it, the holidays aren’t really the time where the gym is at the top of your priority list.

You’ve got friends and family to visit, a novel you’ve promised yourself you’ll get to the end of, and of course, plenty of delicious Christmas treats to indulge in, too. But when the sun is out (fingers crossed), nothing beats getting outdoors and making the most of it, which often means a little incidental exercise in the process. Here’s how we’re planning on getting our heart rates up these holidays – and the gear we’ll be doing it in.

Sally-Ann Mullin, editor
I’ve recently got into running in a big way, so to keep it up over the holidays I’m planning on running along The Coastal Walkway in New Plymouth while I’m there visiting family.
Workout must-have: adidas Cycling Tank, $45  (1.)

Tyla McKenzie, fashion assistant
I’ll be back home in Mount Maunganui so I’ll be walking up the Mount as much as I can. You just can’t beat that view of the ocean in the morning.
Workout must-have: adidas Work Out ¾ Tight, $90 (3.)

Kelly McAuliffe, digital editor
I’m going to make the most of the stunning backdrop of the Bay of Islands with some sunrise outdoor yoga.
Workout must-have: adidas Work Out Long Tight, $100 (4.)

Phoebe Watt, features writer
You can’t help but over-indulge on Christmas Day, so I’m hoping my family will join me on a walk up Mt Paritutu in New Plymouth on Boxing Day. Actually, I might see if I can drag Sally-Ann along too…
Workout must-have: adidas Racer Back Bra, $70 (5.)

Lucy Slight, features editor
I’m spending three days in Blenheim and I think some kayaking in The Sounds is on the cards. I haven’t kayaked in years so hopefully my arms can handle it!
Workout must-have: adidas Top Cropped Long Sleeve T-Shirt, $60 (2.)
