These are the pillars on which we’ve based this, the second issue of Fashion Quarterly Life. As editor of Simply You and Simply You Living, I’ve loved working with the FQ Life team as guest editor of this special issue. Together we’ve discovered the inspiring Kiwis who are rocking these worlds.
There are the three fashion buyers (page 34) whose sartorial choices shape our wardrobes season after season, and couples who not only play, live and eat together but also work together, to the success of their respective businesses (page 66). There’s also Auckland husband-and-wife duo Nic and Kelly Watt, who have launched wellness centre True Food & Yoga, which is sure to garner an equally loyal following as their award-winning restaurant Masu by Nic Watt. They share three recipes with FQ Life using matcha green tea powder to create delicious desserts (page 106).
Our talented team has produced two stand-out fashion shoots – one against the backdrop of the romantic Banks Peninsula (page 74); the other animated by Anna Savelieva’s fabulously quirky illustrations (page 86).
Homes in this issue maximise the individuality of the occupants, their lifestyles and desire to stamp their personalities on each space. From an art-filled renovated villa (page 40) to the rented home of a young creative couple (page 50), they have all curated homes with a heart.
Wellbeing is increasingly becoming central to how people live their lives and we’ve tracked the trends that are making headlines. From insects on the menu (page 114) to mindfulness (page 134), we’ve got it covered. And it wouldn’t be Fashion Quarterly without the latest in beauty news, products and tips – all of which we have from page 119.
