The wait is finally over!
Lorde has just dropped the first single from her highly-anticipated second album, Melodrama, and it is EVERYTHING.
Her new single ‘Green Light’ was released at 8 am this morning and comes with a video directed by Grant Singer.
He’s the creative force behind clips for The Weeknd’s Starboy, “The Hills”, and “Can’t Feel My Face” as well as the Zayn/T-Swift colab “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever”.
Lorde tweeted the song’s release date yesterday as well as saying how proud she was of the new track.

In her interview with ZM’s Fletch, Vaughan and Megan this morning, the 20-year-old revealed the new song was actually about heartbreak.
“It’s totally a song about heartbreak. I’ve never been really good at writing songs about relationships.
“It’s more about finding yourself through that situation. You go through the thing and it’s so awful and you just wish you could let go. The green light thing is saying ‘I’m not okay right now but I’m going to be okay’.

The singer split from her long-term BF James Lowe in 2015.
We don’t have the deets yet as to when the album will be released, but the singer she definitely has plans to play shows at home.
