We came here for the
music ‘gram opportunities.
Laneway Festival 2018 has been and gone and it’s safe to say, aside from checking out all the hottest up and coming bands and DJs, nothing gets you in the festival mood quite like executing an on-trend, on-theme outfit.
While Miss FQ were on the ground snapping daring looks as seen on you, the beautiful people of this nation, we couldn’t help but notice which key trends called for a double take…
Y’all love trainers! Vans, Converse, black, white or checkered, as always, sneakers held the main stake in festival style this year. And so they should, with the mileage and dancing you clock up, plus their power-pairing capability of making an otherwise evening ensemble look practical and edgy.
2. Blood orange.
This colour was a hit at Laneway, with people pairing it with denim, contrasting it with a white print or pushing the envelope by incorporating it into their beauty look – which btw, we are totally crushing on. Bringing us to trend number three…
3. Coloured hair.
Anyone can throw some clothes on, but it takes a real trail-blazer to dye their hair for the festival cause. There were blush tones providing a glowing tanned complexion to their wearers, lavenders so sweet one had to resist smelling their heads and fierce coppers practically parting the crowds like the Red Sea. The secret to nailing this look? Turns out you can achieve this one day wash out effect using L’Oreal Paris Colorista products. Too easy.
4. Crossbody bags.
Equally practical as it is an opportunity to show your festival personality, crossbody bags were the perfect trophy touch for laid-back summer style. We were inspired by the satin, fringing and crystal embellishments which upgraded the bag into full festival-whimsy realms.
But that’s enough from us, scroll for what you really want… street style from Laneway Festival 2018:
