By now you know all about the Miss FQ Colgate Optic White Influencer Awards and while voting is now closed the VIP party on October 4th where we’ll reveal the amazing winners is just around the corner! But before then, we want to introduce the top Kiwi bloggers, vloggers and ’grammers killing it online as chosen by you! First up is the Fitspo category brought to you by Baby-G…
Riley Hemson | @healthychick101
‘Real’ was a word that appeared in almost all of Riley’s nominations – and that’s what it’s meant to be about right? We’ve always said that these awards were about celebrating real, authentic influencers so we couldn’t look past making Riley a finalist for that reason.
Having lost 30 kgs over the past year and documenting her journey to over 58,000 people along the way, it was clear that Riley’s fitspo journey went beyond the gym. To this girl, fitspo is a way of life.
“Riley taught me to look past the idea of ‘fitspo’ as an unrealistic diet and insane fitness,” one fan wrote. “True ‘fitspo’ is a lifestyle and takes time, learning to love yourself at every point of your journey.”
Rose Keddell | @rosekeddell
So it turns out the Miss FQ team aren’t the only ones who look up to professional athlete and phenomenal New Zealand Blackstick, Rose Keddell – you guys love her too! As much as hockey is Rose’s focus, our loyal readers (dat’s you!) told us how much they love following her adventures around the country, especially when she took our Miss FQ Instagram followers to her hometown, The Mount via our Story.
Rose’s positive and energetic approach to her sporting discipline and overall healthy lifestyle is incredibly infectious. I mean, talk about #goals!
Simone Anderson | @simone_anderson
When a Kiwi chick ends up on The Tyra Banks Show the world listens… and follows her every move on Instagram. With over 245k followers on the ‘Gram over 300k on Facebook, you’d be hard pressed to find someone who hadn’t heard of the lovely and truly authentic Simone Anderson – or seen one of her before and after photos demonstrating her incredible 92kg weight loss.
“[Simone] is honest about social media, dispelling the myths around body positivity and beauty standards, and is candid and open with her approach to content,” one fan wrote, proving you can’t have ‘fitspo’ without the inspo and that’s our (and your) favourite thing about Simone.
Lana Van Hout | @lanavanhout
Started as a normal exerciser and now we’re here. Well, Lana’s here and she definitely ran… really, really fast! That’s right, this middle distance runner (and total babe) wasn’t always chasing the finish line, in fact she’s only been running for a few years but has rapidly grown in popularity on Instagram thanks to her motivational captions, inspiring fitspo photos and lovely, genuine personality.
As one v accurate nomination reads, “[Lana’s] the sort of girl you want to be your sister or BFF, and she’s total fitspo!”
Lydia O’Donnell | @lydiaodo
“No one runs like Lydia O’Donnell does – she is one of the most inspiring athletes we have in NZ and I love following her and all of her updates. She motivates me to keep going in my own fitness pursuits!”
This next level runner might enjoy a half marathon most days before breakfast, but she’s also an incredible coach both IRL and on Instagram. No wonder Lydia has over 15,000 devoted followers and very high engagement on all of her #fitspo AF posts.
If you’re ever feeling like you’re hitting an exercise slump, just scroll through Lydia’s feed – it’s littered with incredibly motivating captions which accompany her amazing photos; they make it quite obvious why she made the top five in this category.
