Because your like is the only one you need.

When Converse mentioned the launch of their Love Fearlessly collection, Miss FQ knew immediately these three young, creative Kiwis would be the ideal people to face the campaign. We sat down and spoke to them about the importance of understanding our relationship with social media, how external validation isn’t what it’s cracked up to be, and why they believe your own like is the only one you need…

Pip Artus
Founder and designer, Cherry Eyewear

Pip Artus embodies the definition of a creative: she’s a dancer, singer, artist, model and more recently, eyewear designer. As an extension of her creativity, Mount Maunganui-based Pip launched Cherry Eyewear in 2019 with the label being born out of her love for eyewear and fashion. Using social media to promote her brand and draw inspiration, Pip has forged her own path as a creative in many different endeavors and uses Instagram in particular to portray her authentic sense of style and self.

“As I have gotten older, I have really learnt to love certain things about myself.”

Pip wears two-toned Chuck Taylor All Star High Tops from the ‘Love Fearlessly’ collection.

Ruby Hamilton
Digital content producer, Miss FQ

Miss FQ‘s very own Ruby Hamilton is a lover of all things social media and style.  Always one to create her own luck and opportunity, Ruby surrounds herself with creative, hard-working female friends which has also really contributed to her self-love and self-empowerment journey.

“When you have a lot of self belief and confidence in yourself, it really does translate to how you support your inner circle.”

Ruby wears the ‘Love Fearlessly’ collection’s take on the ultimate classic, Chuck Taylor All Star High Tops, complete with tiny heart details.

Rachel Mataira
International tax consultant + landscape and documentary photographer

By day she is a an international tax consultant and in her spare time, Rachel Mataira is a celebrated landscape and documentary photographer. In 2019 Rachel was awarded New Zealand Geographic’s NZ Young Photographer of the Year, an accolade that helped launch her following and online platform that she now uses to sell her photography. Staying true to herself and her passion has opened up a world she would not have experienced otherwise.

“To love fearlessly to me means do what I love and not have fear of criticism, of judgement, of failure.”

Rachel wears the Chuck Taylor All Star Lift sneaker, a style that flirts with feminine construction and a platform sole to give just enough lift.
